Approximate controllability for a coupled system of Schodinger equations modeling a trapped ion

Trapped ions (or qubits) are used in Quantum information theory for the realization of quantumlogic gates. We present here a system of Schodinger equations ,associated to the harmonic oscillator,modeling the trapping of a single ion,coupling the external vibrations of the ion and external spatial vibrations under the effect of electromagnetic waves. We prove an approximate controllability result for this system by proving that it can be approximated by a simpler system which can be exactly controlled.
